Welcome back. I hope you are ready to do some hiking today. We are going to “walk the wall” of the Old City of Jerusalem and chat a bit about the various City Gates.
The Old City of Jerusalem is composed of four quarters, each with its own distinctive characteristics. The Christian Quarter is in the northwest, the Moslem Quarter in the northeast, the Armenian Quarter in the southwest, and the Jewish Quarter in the southeast. These four quarters, covering an area of approximately 850 dunams, are surrounded by the city walls.
Built of huge blocks of grey stone, the present walls were constructed between 1536 and 1539 during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent. (See my blog post about Topkapi Palace, which was the residence of Suleiman the Manificent while he built Jerusalem. He never saw the city in person, but ordered it to be built from Istanbul [Contantinople], Turkey.)
There are eight gates in the Old City Walls (see my blog post about Old Jerusalem for a detailed description of the Gates).

Father, we pray your will be done, your Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. Father, hear our cry, we are kingdom builders, building up the wall of your kingdom with your help. We will stand in the gap for our brothers and sisters in Jerusalem, Israel, and all over the world, who have yet to believe in the saving power of the blood of Jesus. Father, we keep our eyes on you; stand at our position, and keep watch. We have stationed ourselves on the rampart; we are waiting, watching, looking to see and hear what you will say. Our eyes are on you because we don’t know what to do, so we will wait, watch, and pray. Thank you for the opportunity to be still. Thank you for the answer we have for every question anyone asks. Thank you for allowing us to share the hope we know because of our own experience, through our many trials, we have found treasure. Thank you. We know His name is Jesus. We love you. In your Son’s precious name, Jesus, amen.
